Spurred on by the lads of the village, who are starting to organise
their Christmas lunch, I had a chat with Pete in the pub about how we
could have our annual festive get together in a safe environment. Pete
described how he would arrange the large dining room into various
sized tables of no more than six (some would be less than 6) and
separate them by the polythene screens, which you will have seen
already if you have visited the pub over the summer. We, as customers,
would be required to wear a mask when not sat at a table but staff
would wear masks at all times. There is also a hand sanitizer at the
entrance, which we should all use. Whilst it would be different to
previous years, thought has gone into our safety and it’s a case of
this or nothing. Of course, rules could change between now and then.
It is quite understandable if people prefer not to take part this
year, but I am happy to organise another Christmas lunch for those who
would like to get together with friends and support the pub.
Three courses would be £25,
two courses would be £21 but, if you think you can only manage one
course, Pete will price it accordingly. The maximum that can be seated
safely is 30, so we will have to cap numbers at that (we don’t usually
quite make 30 in normal times though).
Please let me know if you would like to take part along with your menu
choice and I’ll collate the information and keep an eye on numbers.
I’ll then liaise with Pete over everyone’s menu choices in advance.
